Located in the Centre of Newcastle, Hibou Blanc is a locally driven and flavour-led restaurant and cocktail bar. Occupying a distinguished grade II listed Edwardian site built in 1902, our aim was to honour its heritage with a refined and upscale design.
One of our primary focuses was centred on curating the lighting design, aiming to cultivate a subtle yet sophisticated ambiance that significantly enhanced the overall dining experience. The role of lighting proved pivotal in shaping the desired ambience for this project.
The allure of the space is further enhanced by grand chandeliers gracefully suspended over the bar, imparting an aura of sophistication. Dark wood accents, meticulously integrated into wall panelling and bar details, contribute to an air of luxurious countryside charm. Drawing inspiration from classic country estates, the design incorporates elements such as photo collages featuring evocative animal paintings and other decorative accents, evoking a sense of country class.
